Applications for the Golden Jubilee Tour opened in May and are limited to 50 places, with entries closing at the end of July. Following a positive response from customers nationwide, Mitsubishi Motors has already received a good number of applications, with entries received from owners of vehicles that span each decade and model sold over the 50 years by the company. However, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK is still keen to receive applications, especially those enthusiasts with rarer models such as the Lonsdale and Tredia models. Additionally, they are also keen on any new entries for vehicles that combine an interesting or special customer or vehicle story.

Mitsubishi Motors in the UK is also proud to announce that Jack Morris-Marsham, one of the founders of the company in 1974, formally known as The Colt Car Company, and an ex-Managing Director and Vice-Chairman, will start the rally in Cirencester.

In addition to the Tour, several of the 110 Mitsubishi Motors dealers across the UK will also be holding local celebratory events. One of the aims of the celebrations is to raise money for two named charities: the British Heart Foundation and the British Red Cross.

Continuing to mark the fiftieth anniversary, it has recently been confirmed that a new club to celebrate The Colt Car Company and Mitsubishi Motors in the UK, will be launched at the Classic Car Show at the NEC in November, where a stand for a 5-car display has been allocated. The club is being set up by Stephen Blackburn, son of David Blackburn, the founder and man behind the company's launch in 1974.
