Seat Tarraco production starts in Wolfsburg

18 October 2018 | For the first time in about 20 years, Volkswagen's Wolfsburg plant is producing a model of another Group brand: the SEAT Tarraco. The Spanish SUV, which was designed and developed in Barcelona, exploits the synergy effects of the MQB production platform. In Wolfsburg, the Spanish model will roll off the production line together with the Volkswagen models Tiguan and Touran. The step towards multi-brand production will boost the capacity deployment of Volkswagen's main plant. The production of the Tarraco in Wolfsburg is part of the Pact for the Future concluded by the company and the Works Council at the end of 2016.

BMW introduces X7

18 October 2018 | BMW introduces the X7. It is the largest model in the BMW X line-up combining modern powertrain and chassis technology as well as practicality and versatility. The new X7 is 5,151mm long, 2,000mm wide and 1,805mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,105mm. In terms of design, the X7 has a three-dimensional version of the bar that turns upwards at its outer edges. At the front, Adaptive LED headlights and front foglamps are standard, while BMW Laserlights are optional. This system employs a spotlight with Selective Beam delivering a non-dazzling high beam range of 600 metres.

15 October 2018 | Following on from the first silhouette images, Skoda reveals the name of its new model: Scala. The name derives from the Latin word scala which means stairs and is a step forward for the Czech car manufacturer in the compact hatch segment. The Scala is the first Skoda production model in Europe to carry the Skoda name in lettering across the centre of the tailgate and replaces the Skoda logo.

Pricing announced for Jeep Wrangler

11 October 2018 | Pricing and specification for the all-new Jeep Wrangler have been announced today, ahead of the iconic SUVs official UK launch. The starting priceisf GBP44,495 OTR for the Sahara 2.2 MultiJet II 200hp 4x4 Automatic 8-Speed 2-Door version. Two four-wheel drive systems are available: Command-Trac, on the Sahara and Overland trim level, and Rock-Trac, standard on Rubicon trim. Both systems feature the new Selec-Trac full-time two-speed transfer case for a continuous monitoring and management of the torque sent to front and rear wheels.

Its available with a choice of three trim levels, Urban, City Cross and Cross Plus, three petrol engines, including two brand new more efficient turbo petrol engines, and now comes with a host of safety assistance systems as standard across the range. The new Fiat 500X is on sale now priced from GBP16,995 OTR.

1 May 2018 | Porsche is expanding its range of hybrids: the new Cayenne E-Hybrid combines the best driving dynamics in its class with maximum efficiency. A three-litre V6 engine (250 kW/340 hp) combines with an electric engine (100 kW/136 hp) to generate system power of 340 kW (462 hp). The maximum torque of 700 Nm is already available just above idling speed; the boost strategy matches that of the 918 Spyder supercar. The Cayenne's plug-in hybrid drive enables acceleration from 0 to 100 kilometres per hour in 5.0 seconds and a maximum speed of 253 kilometres per hour

23 April 2018 | Volvo reveals the S90 Ambience Concept, a sensory experience that synchronises visuals, sound and scent to enjoy in-car luxury. The S90 Ambience Concept, making its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show 2018 in China, is based on Volvo's top-of-the-line S90 Excellence three-seater executive saloon and focuses on chauffeured passengers in the rear seat. The passengers can personalise the cars atmosphere by using the intuitive smartphone app to choose one of seven visual themes synchronised with audio and scent.
