Fiat Pomigliano receives WCM Gold Award

5 July 2013 - The Fiat Pomigliano plant has been awarded the highest recognition for application of World Class Manufacturing, the production cycle organization methodology that allows plants to be managed according to the highest global standards in all fields: from safety to the environment, maintenance, logistics and quality.

This is the first time that a Fiat final assembly plant receives such prestigious recognition, and Fiat and Chrysler's chief executive officer, Sergio Marchionne, wished to express his gratitude in person to the employees of the G.B. Vico factory in Pomigliano d'Arco for the level of their daily commitment. He did so during a visit to the plant, which allowed him to meet with the factory's employees during two work shifts and a lunch.

For the occasion, Marchionne also invited Laura Boldrini, President of Italy's Chamber of Deputies, to get a closer look at the industrial complex that Fiat is reconstructing in Italy by visiting one of the Group's most modern plants, such as Pomigliano or the Maserati factory in Grugliasco, or by participating on 9 July in the ceremony during which the new investments for the Val di Sangro plant will be presented.
